I'm Nicole
Social Service Worker
What brought you to Fanshawe?
Initially, I came to Fanshawe for the PSW program. Over time, I decided this wasn't for me. I moved into general arts & science, human services foundation (graduated) and then finally, the social service worker program.
Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.
My favourite Fanshawe experience was meeting my best friend, Kaitlyn. I know she will be a forever friend and for that, I am grateful [to Fanshawe for bringing us together.]
What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?
Fanshawe was able to show me a lot about my own personal growth. I lost friends, gained friends, and went through some of the best yet hardest years of my life but, I never gave up. My professors showed me that it's okay to get knocked down but to always get back up; knowing I had a support system behind me the entire way.
What are you up to now?
I am now working for CMHA as both a mental health worker at the Adult Eating Disorder Service in London as well as a transitional support worker for My Sisters Place [in London.] I am the happiest I've ever been, I feel much fulfillment with my work, and I have never been stronger; mentally.
