Advertising Art
What brought you to Fanshawe?
I originally chose graphic art and design, which was called ‘Advertising Art’, but applied too late in the spring as there was huge demand, so I chose a sister course ‘Fine Art’ to see if it was comparable.
Because the two courses intertwined with a few of the same classes, I had the opportunity to see the graphic art students at work. I liked what I saw and approached the coordinator for another shot at the course and the rest is history. 4 years later, beyond 600+ applicants, I was one of 17 to graduate.

The first impression of unity lasts, so it was the barbeque party at a teacher’s country home after the dual class photoshoot at the beginning of the school year that included both Fine Art and Advertising Art students and teachers.
What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?
I spent 2 summers working for marketing agencies in London between school years, and after college,
it took a couple years, but I embraced the printing industry and went on to work 17 years as a prepress lithographer. After the printing industry, I morphed into web design and development which then took me into sales of site design, seo and ppc.
This led me later to train others how to start developing sites and to this day, I experience career upgrades that somehow related but allow me to take on new career challenges.
What are you up to now?
Now, I am focused on peoples’ accounts as they relate to their health care, finances and since I have been learning from the inside on how trading and investing work hand in hand, I can see how what I’ve learned will assist others in taking their investments to the next level.
