What brought you to Fanshawe?
The reputation of the Nursing School. I entered during the first year of the program moving to a 3 year program. Fanshawe was known to be a strong Nursing school and the reputation of the teachers was high and well known.
Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.
I loved the practical approach the school took to the program. It was engaging and the clinical experiences far exceeded my expectations. You were immersed into Nursing and the world of healthcare from day one! I have many memorable moments that involved teachers, patients and my many friends I met while at Fanshawe.
What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?
Fanshawe provided me with the experience and skills I needed to confidently enter the Nursing workforce. I was motivated to pursue more education and became more open to different avenues of learning. I can easily say that I would not have had the career path that I have had the privilege of having without my time at Fanshawe.
What are you up to now?
I am currently the President and CEO of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. In addition to my role as CEO, I am a surveyor with Accreditation Canada, a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Care leaders and an Adjunct Professor at the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western.
