What brought you to Fanshawe?

I was 31 years old and had never attended college and I was ready to change my life . I wanted to achieve great things and show my boys what hard work can do. I was ready to be proud of my career and give back to those around me. I chose the Prehealth Science and Practical Nursing Programs and never looked back.

Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.

My favorite Fanshawe experience was my time at the Oxford Campus in Woodstock. The close knit family feel was exactly what I was looking for as a mature student. I met some amazing people and felt proud to be getting my education in my own community.

What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?

Getting my nursing diploma at Fanshawe changed my life. I found purpose in my career and take great pride in caring for others. Fanshawe gave me the tools I needed to be successful entering a new career as an adult and has allowed me to fulfill something I had once only dreamed of.

What are you up to now?

I currently work full time at the Tillsonburg Hospital on an acute medical floor and have been there for 5 years. I have recently began working part time as a Clinical Instructor for Fanshawe College Woodstock in the RPN program and have been working casually for Southwestern Public Health vaccinating against COVID-19. I am also enrolled in the Perioperative Program for nurses through Loyalist College.
