What brought you to Fanshawe?

I was living in London at the time and so Fanshawe was the closest college that offered the Finance program that I was interested in. The Business Finance program would allow me to get the certifications/licenses that employers in the industry were looking for and provide the education requirements to begin the path towards the CFP designation. I also knew many friends that went to Fanshawe and I heard nothing but great things about it.

Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.

There was a team competition as a fun project for the Canadian Securities Course where we invested $100,000 using an online investing simulator. Our team had the highest return on our investments by the end of it and so I think we won a little bit of money and bragging rights. Everyone had a good time!

What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?

In just two years I was able to get my mutual funds, securities & life insurance licenses which was essential to getting into the finance/financial planning industry. I still keep in touch with a couple of my Professors and they really want you to succeed. I also made some great friends.

What are you up to now?

I am now a Certified Financial Planner working in London for an investment & insurance firm. I work with two experienced Financial Advisors, supporting their day-to-day operations and client servicing as well as building my own client base.
